This Sunday: Jamaal Bowman and a PDA Strategy Session. RSVP Now!
Join us this Sunday when Jamaal Bowman—one of the most brilliant, dynamic, and truthful politicians in America—joins us. Also, we’ll discuss PDA’s strategy to defeat MAGA and launch a new Progressive era.
RSVP Now!
As we all know, imbalanced redistricting, plus an avalanche of right-wing money arrayed against him and in support of his conservative Democratic opponent, led to Jamaal Bowman’s defeat in last year’s primary. No one understands the imbalances that plague the American political system better than Jamaal Bowman—and no one tells it like it is any better. Less than two months since he left Congress, Bowman will give us the lowdown on how Congress really operates and what Democrats must do to fight back effectively against Trump and Musk.
So, join us this Sunday for words and wisdom from a politician with great integrity, who will be one of the leaders of the progressive movement for decades to come, Jamaal Bowman.
Then, we will have a PDA strategy session. Executive Director Alan Minsky has written a series of articles on Commondreams, about how progressives can and must take over the Democratic Party for the good of the country and the world. The articles that have created quite a buzz on social media. A presentation of their central ideas, followed by an open discussion, is overdue on one of our Town Halls.
If you want to do your homework before Sunday, here are links to the three articles:
- Now Is the Time for Progressives to Take Over the Democratic Party;
- Our Democracy Is in Peril, But Progressives Are Poised to Lead Its Revival;
- Our 2 Choices: Join the Democratic Party to Transform It, or Acquiesce to Fascism.
However, before you go read those articles, remember to RSVP for Sunday’s Town Hall.

We are making inroads ~
Is the March 2nd meeting on YouTube? I signed out but would love to hear what Jamaal had to say.
So who hacked the stream ?
CCP?
Latimer?
Elon? (it was his style of “comedy’)
RSVP WHERE?
I am not a member of the Democratic Party. I migrated to the Working Families Part last year and consider the WFP to be the “democratic wing of the Democratic Party. We interview Democratic Party candidates ( no Republican Party candidates request our endorsement ) and only endorse the candidates who hold to our ethics and values.
Important to note : If we had ranked choice voting in Connecticut – and throughout the United States – we could vote for candidates who we feel are the best and have a second choice / third choice, etc. noted on our ballots. Maine and Alaska have that in place.
I was proud to canvass for Jamaal Bowman in front of the Westchester Town Hall during the primary early-voting period, then on primary voting day in front of a voting location. in the district. I felt like Representative Bowman was overly aggressive on the invasion and occupation of Gaza by the Israeli army, but he was far and away a better candidate and should have retained his seat in Congress.
I had a lengthy conversation with a person as he left the poll, but managed to continue the conversation going until I equated Benjamin Netanyahu with Hamas. My remark struck a raw nerve, and he stormed off.
I stand by my remark.
Your far left progressive stance has divided our party, and has contributed to Trump’s success.
I’m a progressive/moderate Democrat, retired environmental law/compliance specialist for DOA/DOI/DOD, and
disagree with your lean toward socialized medicine/universal health care, paying off all student debt, reparation for all
Our country is torn apart, with a tyrant as President, and a Congress that bows down to him
We need unification NOW
Start a new platform with unifying goals
Our new platform/base should unify
-job security
-higher pay
-tough on crime
-tighter disbursement of tax dollars
-use populist idealism to unify in a positive, non-manipulative way -find a path to assist farmers/ranchers while having them preserve habitat
-push cheaper, clean water and power
I’m not a politician or a political science expert, but I do know our party had to change, rebrand more conservatively, and appeal to working class
For the March 2 Town Hall zoom:
Two questions:
1. Why has the Democratic Party not made any major public media announcements to counter the terrible Trump actions and Trump chaos? And since the news media is owned the Right, the coverage of any such events might be lacking, so why has the Democratic Party not purchased any major media ads … especially for on TV?
2. Has the Democratic Party considering creating its own national news and social network? Or considered the idea of possibly purchasing one, such as CNN? For two discrete reasons: First, to provide reliable and open news to the citizens of our nation. And second, to put forward the Democratic Party’s ideas, and to openly work at composing its goals for a better country.
Thanks,
Stephen McKevitt
How can we help promote younger leaders (w:o seniority) to communicate on the front lines? We need informed, passionate, articulate , energetic speakers who are skilled in reaching grass roots through independent media. Navigating social media is a MUST!
