Join Us for a Conversation About What Happens Next After Tuesday’s Huge Win in Michigan 

On Tuesday, there was a tectonic shift in American politics. Despite being outspent 10-1, and up against AIPAC’s dark money, the progressive movement withstood the attacks and won the Michigan primary.  

Historians will write that the Democratic Party establishment fell in Michigan on August 4, 2026. 

It was the most expensive Senate primary race in history. Abdul El-Sayed is now headed to a MAGA showdown in November, and if we do our work, we will send at least two new progressives from Michigan to the House as well. El-Sayed, Will Lawrence, and Donavan McKinney all were on our town hall this past month.

I was there and it was amazing. I was in Lansing, the state capital, helping out Will Lawrence for Congress. Overall, his campaign knocked 100,000 doors–I knocked about 100 for him and El-Sayed in two days.

Will won on a message of worker justice, anti-data center organizing, and on climate. He knows how to work hard over the last 80 days to flip a MAGA seat. Check out some of my favorite pictures from the week: 

November 3 is getting closer and there are only a few primaries left. We hope for big wins in Minnesota and Wisconsin this Tuesday, closely followed by Florida, and wrapping up with Massachusetts. But now we must do whatever it takes over the next days and months to defeat MAGA and not let it come back.
