Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) endorsed Jamaal Bowman for Congress because—unlike the 16-term incumbent—Jamaal prioritized saving human life from the COVID-19 pandemic, lack of healthcare, and the escalating climate emergency.
With your help, including donations and phone calls, we pulled off a huge upset and put corporate Democrats on notice: we will not settle for lukewarm candidates with divided loyalties.

PDA was founded in 2004 to uphold basic progressive principles including free, fair, clean, and transparent elections. As our first major effort, we worked with allies investigating and publicizing wholesale “irregularities” in Ohio during the 2004 Elections. We’ve never lost sight of this commitment.
PDA Executive Director Alan Minsky and founding Advisory Board Chair Mimi Kennedyauthored a critically important article published by CommonDreams titled 2020 Voters’ Calendar—The General Election Starts in August. Please read and then share this important article via email and social media.
The House of Representatives passed legislation called the For the People Act (H.R.1) “To expand Americans’ access to the ballot box, reduce the influence of big money in politics, and strengthen ethics rules for public servants, and for other purposes.” Tell your Senators to follow suit. Then Email Mike Fox to volunteer with a PDA Campaign and/or the Phone Team.
COVID-19 is still killing people, and we’re still not seeing the leadership we need. Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) has held weekly emergency online town halls as part of our work to mobilize support for needed policies.
Join Dr. Bill Honigman and special guest, Rev. Rodney Sadler (PDA Advisory Board), as we discuss ways to stay safe and healthy.
Demonstrations demanding racial justice continue. PDA joins with those demands to Defund the Police, Invest in Black Communities, and Call for Force Donald Trump to Resign.
Click Here to tell your Representative to cosponsor House Resolution 988, “Condemning all acts of police brutality, racial profiling, and the use of excessive and militarized force.”
PDA calls on everyone to demand immediate passage of emergency healthcare legislation.
We’re horrified at the ongoing oppression of immigrants and asylum seekers. Our immigration policies have long needed fundamental reform.
Click here to tell Congress to defund and abolish ICE, to quickly pass the bipartisan Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, and to end inhumane and deadly abuses against immigrants and asylum-seekers.
We need an empowered, progressive mass movement to demand the policies and government responses needed to save lives and rebuild our shattered economy. We need your generous support to get there.
