Support Healthcare As A Human Right!

The Single Payer Strategy conference was a huge success, and PDA was front and center. It kicked off with a march through the streets of downtown Minneapolis and ended with our collective marching orders to become and be the most effective Medicare for all, single-payer activists ever. Minnesota nurses rocked the hometown advantage with their hospitality, and registered nurses from California, Massachusetts and New York and beyond fired us up for the Medicare for all campaign ahead.

Donna Smith flew in from Denver and moderated a great panel featuring Wendell Potter. Dr. Bill flew in from California, and Ken Kenegos flew in from Arizona. Local PDA activist Bob Keiser anchored our information booth. And we had a great opportunity to connect with our PDA-endorsed candidate for Congress, “The Iron Stache” Randy Bryce. Randy is a real down to earth progressive, a union iron worker, committed to helping everyone in Congress.

As Mother Jones magazines describes, “The 52-year-old Bryce is built like a lineman, with soft brown eyes and a flattop that flares up in the front like uncut grass. He grew a handlebar mustache for kicks years ago, and the bushy black ellipse is now so popular he could not get rid of it even if he wanted to. It has taken on almost Samson-like qualities among his growing base of supporters. If it weren’t for the Iron Stache, you might have never heard of Randy Bryce.”

We’re beyond grateful and so honored and happy to see and work with our brothers and sisters at National Nurses United, Healthcare-NOW!, Labor Campaign for Single-Payer Healthcare, Our Revolution, the Sanders Institute, Physicians for a National Healthcare Program, and many more. We also were thrilled to have Wendell Potter from Tarbell.org with us for the weekend.
