Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) is appalled that Roy Moore—a disgraced former judge—is running for U.S. Senate in the Alabama special election as the Republican nominee. He was kicked off the judiciary twice for ignoring the Constitution and the Alabama Supreme Court on issues including equal rights and the separation of church and state.

Moore’s extremism and intolerance exposed him as unqualified. Doug Jones, the Democratic Party nominee running against Moore, has shown principled stands throughout his career in public office. He’s a hero for successfully prosecuting the KKK terrorists who killed four little girls in the infamous 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama. He defends a woman’s right to choose and supports Planned Parenthood. He’s for raising the minimum wage, and increasing access to voting.

Going by what we know about both candidates, PDA feels we cannot sit back in silence and let this election happen without our involvement. Doug Jones is a good candidate. Roy Moore reportedly cruised shopping malls and high school football games seeking liaisons with teenaged girls, and allegedly forced himself on at least one young girl in a car. We must not let a bigoted theocratic hypocrite and alleged serial sexual predator like Roy Moore win a Senate seat. Please pitch in now to help defeat Roy Moore.

Moore was fired twice as a judge. He doesn’t believe in separation of church and state. He’s an avowed gay basher with extreme views on immigration. He has an unhealthy love of guns. That would have been enough for us to fear Roy Moore as Senator, but with the shocking revelations regarding his penchant for preying on underage girls, we must ask you to join us taking a stand.
