Rolling Stone recently profiled Alexis Goldstein, and her story is one every progressive should know.
Alexis was fired by DOGE after standing up for privacy rights and refusing to stay silent when ordinary Americans’ freedoms were at stake. Long before that, she made an extraordinary journey from Wall Street analyst to Occupy Wall Street activist, dedicating her life to challenging corporate power and fighting for working people.
Now she’s running for Congress in one of the toughest Democratic primaries in the country—a district that includes some of America’s wealthiest ZIP codes just outside of Washington, DC, and where corporate-backed Democrats have traditionally dominated. Alexis is taking on both an incumbent and a former incumbent, candidates deeply tied to the political establishment and the billionaire influence that has distorted our democracy for far too long.
At a time when oligarchs are consolidating power and working families are being left behind, Alexis Goldstein is offering something different: a campaign rooted in economic justice, accountability, and people-powered politics. She’s not running to join the club in Washington—she’s running to challenge it.
This is exactly the kind of race progressives need to be paying attention to.
