This Sunday: Learn about PDA’s Voter Registration & Protection Campaigns with Greg Palast & Field Team 6
Join us Sunday at 4pm ET/1pm PT for a Town Hall about the most pressing question of the moment: what can we do to ensure victory in November? We’ll introduce two new PDA initiatives that will make contributions to that end: a final voter registration push with our new partners, Field Team 6, and a voter protection campaign inspired by the investigative work of Greg Palast, who will join us. RSVP Now!
The closer we get to election day, campaigns understandably focus more resources on their Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts, and much less on voter registration drives. Of course, this is necessary once the deadline to register to vote in your state has passed. However, no state has passed that deadline yet—and, with the entire country’s attention already riveted by the Presidential contest, these days (i.e., the final days to register before the Big Day) are probably the easiest time to register new voters in the entire four-year election cycle.
This is why PDA is going to partner with one of the most innovative voter registration organizations in the country, Field Team 6, over the next few weeks. Field Team 6 does deep research to identify likely Democratic voters who are not yet registered. Then, Field Team 6’s army of volunteers contact these unregistered likely Democratic voters in battleground states and flippable districts, and provide them all the information they need to register. The results have been spectacular.
Jason Berlin, Field Team 6’s founder, will be our featured guest on Sunday’s Town Hall. Jason will explain the Field Team 6 backstory, why their method is so successful, and how PDA and Field Team 6’s partnership over the next five weeks could make a decisive impact on the outcome of the national election.
We’ll also give out the details for PDA and Field Team 6’s launch event on Tuesday afternoon, October 1.
Then we’ll be joined by the legendary investigative journalist and filmmaker Greg Palast, to say a few words about his new film Vigilante, INC, that exposes a coordinated national campaign to suppress the vote this fall.
PDA will be hosting a national screening of Vigilante, INC, via Zoom, on Wednesday evening. There will be a panel discussion after the film, led by Greg himself. This event will also serve as the launch of PDA’s national voter protection campaign for the fall. Greg’s film exposes the powerful, well-funded reactionary forces that we’re up against, and that we must overcome to preserve our democracy.
In solidarity,
Alan Minsky for the PDA National Team
