This Sunday: Dylan Blaha For Congress (IL-13), Rachel Rybaczuk, plus a Preview of PDA’s State of the Democratic Party Forum
Join us this Sunday at 4pm ET/1pm PT for this week’s Progressive Town Hall.
PDA-endorsed Progressive, Dylan Blaha, who is challenging a conservative Democratic incumbent in Central Illinois, and Rachel Rybaczuk, host of the excellent podcast Shifting Terrain, are the featured guests.
Plus, we will preview PDA’s public forum at the DNC meetings in Los Angeles on Thursday. Please RSVP now to secure your spot at the Town Hall.
Over the course of 28 days, from November 4th to December 2nd, election results across the country confirmed PDA’s strategy for change: if we want to continue living in a democratic society, Democrats need to defeat the openly fascist Republican Party, and that will only happen when the Democrats put forward a positive transformative vision for America, rooted in improving the lives of working- and middle-class Americans, who make up the majority of the population.
This Sunday’s Town Hall will feature three parts. All three amplify this theme.
First, Executive Director Alan Minsky will preview a major public forum on the State of the Democratic Party that PDA is hosting on Thursday evening (12/11/25) at the Teachers Union (UTLA) Hall in Los Angeles – to coincide with the quarterly DNC meeting taking place in Downtown LA from the 10th through the 13th.
Second, we’ll be joined by Dylan Blaha, who is challenging incumbent centrist corporate Democrat Nikki Budzinski in Illinois’ 13th district that stretches 200 miles from East Central Illinois to the Metro East near St. Louis. He explains, “The system is broken. It doesn’t work for working people. I’m a combat veteran and former cancer researcher, and I’m running for U.S. Congress to change the system.”
Big goals and an uphill battle, but Dylan is approaching his campaign methodically and strategically, articulating progressive values and policies, and gaining national attention by standing up for people.
To round out the Town Hall, we’ll be joined by Rachel Rybaczuk, host of the exceptional podcast Shifting Terrain, that studies the underrepresentation of working-class Americans in our political system by documenting the struggles (and occasional triumphs) of working-class Americans who run for office. Season two of Shifting Terrain was just released and is available online.
See you on Sunday. We’ll focus on exactly how we’re going to save democracy, triumph over the oligarchs, vanquish MAGA, and build a prosperous and just America.
