The archaic filibuster rule in the U.S. Senate is preventing passage of the American Families Plan, the For The People and John Lewis Voting Rights Acts, a far-reaching infrastructure bill that fights the climate emergency and invests in human infrastructure and social safety nets, sorely needed institutional police reform, and comprehensive immigration policy reform.

Republican state legislatures are busily limiting voting rights, restricting First Amendment protections, banning the teaching of fact-based American history, and curbing LGBTQ+ rights.

The conservative courts, led by the U.S. Supreme Court, are gutting civil rights legislation, upholding corporate hegemony, and are on the verge of overturning Roe v. Wade.
