A dozen years ago, we worked with coalition partners pushing for the impeachment of George W. Bush and Richard Cheney for their high crimes. Unfortunately, Congressional leaders didn’t agree.

We feel that their failure to uphold their constitutional duty tacitly validated high crimes including wars of choice based on lies, torture, and more. By refusing to impeach back then, the House opened the door for the reckless lawlessness we’ve seen from Trump and his regime. Now, it’s time to slam that door shut before the Trumpublicans inflict even more damage to our Constitution.

When it became apparent that Donald Trump was abusing his presidential authority to enrich himself and his family, block investigations of wrongdoing during the 2016 election, and other high crimes, PDA began calling for congressional inquiry.

That was over a year ago. Since then, PDA has relentlessly pushed members of the House to hold hearings, and we eventually prevailed on them to do so.

Many organizations now support the impeachment of Donald Trump. We at PDA thank and welcome them. We also demand that the Senate convict Trump and remove him from office. If you agree, please pitch in whatever you can each month to support our demands for “Justice Or Bust” aka accountability.

The Trump Regime and the Republicans in the House have waged a relentless, hyper-partisan assault on the very concept of accountability. They obstructed investigations and hearings, disparaging the public’s need to know if our president was a crook.

Now, the GOP Senate Majority stands ready to dismiss the serious criminal charges against Trump without even a fair hearing! This is only the third ever impeachment in U.S. history. It calls for serious consideration by every Senator.
