Sunday: Nina Turner on the Promise and Peril of 2026
Our featured guest will be Nina Turner, one of the great progressive champions of our time, who will share her analysis of the multi-layered crises of the moment and why now is the time for unapologetic progressive politics at the international, national, state, and local levels. RSVP Now!
Happy New Year Progressive Democrats of America!
2026 is poised to be one of the most consequential years in the history of the United States of America – and not because July 4th will be the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding. (Though the extra attention on the American Revolution could prove timely, by reminding the population of the revolutionary ideals that inspired the country’s founding principles, thereby exposing Trump’s egregious betrayal of these principles.)
For progressives, the New Year will be a year of struggle and solidarity (i.e., non-stop organizing). We are growing in power and influence across the country. Our policy proposals increasingly resonate with the public. We are the strongest advocates for democracy, and for the economic interests of the vast majority. In 2026 we must be equally resolute as we vie for power.
As Nina Turner says, “All that you love is on the line.” This is especially true now.
Indeed, it is not hyperbole to observe that the current Trump administration rivals the Confederacy as the greatest threat in the country’s history to all that is promising and good about the United States of America.
Just look at the record. Trump is asserting a dictatorial authority that is antithetical to the American system of government.
His administration is practicing extrajudicial murder in the hemisphere, wanton disregard for the constitutional limits of executive authority, and corruption at a level that would make the popes of the 14th century envious, and betrays any sense of allegiance to the working class that Trump the candidate spoke about as he hands ever more power to the wealthiest and most powerful oligarchs in our history. Trump and Stephen Miller, the second most powerful figure in the administration, barely give lip service to the idea of opposing racism, the greatest stain on our country’s history, and effectively embrace overt white supremacy. If all this weren’t terrifying enough, unlike Trump 1.0, the current White House seems to relish enacting violence both domestically and internationally, especially on vulnerable communities.
America as an open society and the core American principle of freedom are on shaky grounds. Compounding this dire reality even further is the fact that Trump and his zombie-like GOP acolytes simply disregard accountability and, whenever it suits them, they’ve granted themselves license to deny any aspect of reality.
As Alan Minsky, Executive Director of Progressive Democrats of America, always says, “When we need a shot of clarity and truth, there’s no one better to talk to than Nina Turner.”
So join Senator Turner and the PDA staff this Sunday for a special Town Hall where we will outline a progressive strategy for 2026 that will vanquish the fascists, reclaim political power for the people, and set the country on the path to building, in the words of Barbara Jordan, “an America as great as its promise.”
See you Sunday at 4pm ET / 1pm PT. RSVP Now!
