Alan Minsky, Executive Director of Progressive Democrats of America said, “PDA is working with Food & Water Watch, Friends of the Earth, Our Revolution, and other allies demanding that Rep. Richard Neal lead House Democrats to ‘go big’ investing in human needs and to zero-out subsidies for the fossil fuel industry in the House Budget Reconciliation Package.”

Minksy added, “We’re calling on him to use his influence as the Ways and Means Committee Chairman to guarantee progress. This includes making necessary investments to meet human needs—healthcare, education, and green jobs, as well as housing and nutrition. Just as significantly, the Ways and Means Committee will detail how the revenue will be raised for these essential programs.”

Minsky concluded, “We expect Chairman Neal to lead the way in securing the $3.5 Trillion through taxes on the wealthy and  profitable corporations; and the closing of loopholes and shelters exploited by these two groups.”

Russell Freedman, Massachusetts State Coordinator for Progressive Democrats of America said, “We are urging Rep. Neal to listen to us—his constituents—not just big donors and special interests. To show strong local support for these policies in Massachusetts’ 1st Congressional District, we’re organizing demonstrations in front of Rep. Neal’s office. We’ve already held 2 demonstrations, and will hold another at his office at 300 State St. Springfield, MA on Monday, September 13th at 11am.”
