PDA is proud to endorse Jonathan Jackson for Congress in IL-01, an open seat following the retirement of Rep. Bobby Rush.

Jonathan Jackson is a national spokesman for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, an organization founded by his father, the Rev. Jesse Jackson. Just like his father, Jonathan is an across the board PDA progressive, a lifelong social justice advocate, and a former surrogate for Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign.

An eloquent and powerful advocate for the people, here’s how Jonathan responded to a question about whether he would support a progressive 21st-Century Economic Bill of Rights:

As spokesperson of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, I have taken on the most intractable problems facing our citizens: discrimination and racial injustices, unemployment, income inequality, voter rights, violent crime, police brutality, unjust incarceration, education, healthcare, homeowner protection, and business development in urban areas. I am running for Congress to carry this vital fight to the nation’s capital. I will work every day to enshrine an Economic Bill of Rights in law that will guarantee that every American can share in the blessings of the American Dream.

It will be a blessing for the people and the planet to have Jonathan Jackson serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.
