ENDORSEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Aftyn Behn for Congress (TN-7)

The Special Election Democratic Primary is October 7

PDA is proud to announce our endorsement of Aftyn Behn for Congress. Aftyn is a true champion of the people, who has become one of Tennessee’s leading advocates for working people since she was elected to the State House representing her community in Nashville.

Now, Aftyn is running for US Congress in the special election to fill the vacancy in the 7th District, created when Rep. Mark Green abruptly resigned following his vote against Trump’s budget.

The Democratic primary is on October 7th, with early voting starting on September 17th.

Democrats in the District have the opportunity to nominate one of the most dynamic and charismatic young progressives in the country, Aftyn Behn! Aftyn is everything the public wants from a Democratic elected official. She is not beholden to any big-money donors.  She is in politics solely to serve the people of her district, Tennessee, and the country.

When Aftyn takes an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, that’s exactly what she will do!

When Aftyn says she is there to serve the people of her district that means advocating for, and introducing, legislation that improves their lives and reflects their priorities. That means first and foremost, addressing the crisis of affordability and economic opportunity in a way that delivers a better life for the people.

Aftyn Behn is exactly the type of representative that Americans across the country are looking for. The people of the 7th District have a golden opportunity to change the tenor of American politics in this election.

PDA encourages all people in the 7th District, across the state, and around the country to support Aftyn Behn for Congress.
