Lessons learned from 9/11

Too Many Lives Lost Over Too Long a Time

As deeply shocking as 9/11 was, we at PDA are equally shocked at the millions of lives that have been destroyed over the last 20 years through the use of deadly force and misplaced priorities.

We grieve for all.

From the longest military action in US history in Afghanistan, to the wars we were lied into in Iraq, Syria, and the Sudan, the list goes on and on.

Meanwhile, the US has increased its lead as the number one nation in the world in mass shootings and other gun violence in our streets.

While all of this deadly force has been employed, we’ve allowed the strongest domestic deadly force—COVID-19—to continue to reek havoc as Trumpist governors and State Houses refuse to take reasonable, effective, and time-honored public health measures to prevent the number of deaths from spiking.

Since 2004 we at PDA have fought all of these scourges, and we will continue to do so, as long as it takes.

Together, we can turn this around. But we all need to stand up in solidarity, and we need your monthly contribution to succeed at this ongoing, long-term project.

We do not have billionaire patrons. We do not have corporate sugar daddies. We have each other.

But together, we can make a real difference.

Your monthly contribution of $5, $10, $20, $50 or more will help prevent future death and suffering, and bring hope to us all.

Thank you so much for anything you can do right now.
