It’s Halloween and Nightmares are Looming: Help PDA Defeat the Electoral Darkness—Become a Monthly Sustainer Today 

In a week and a day, the 2022 midterms will be done, votes will be tallied, followed by inevitable lawsuits and cries of election fraud ringing out from Trumpists and other disgruntled losers and would-be authoritarians at the ballot box. Majorities in the next Congress will determine whether President Biden’s economic and social agenda has a chance to move forward, or if the next two years will be spent in bitterly contested gridlock. Only massive voter turnout for Democrats can stop this nightmare.

Already Republicans are planning endless investigative hearings, impeachments, federal restrictions on voting and reproductive rights, privatization of Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid, more rollbacks of environmental regulations, and wreaking financial havoc with the federal budget. We have EIGHT DAYS LEFT to ensure that nightmare doesn’t happen.

What can you do?

• Vote. Vote for Democrats up and down the ballot. Vote the whole ballot.
• Encourage and help your friends and family to vote. Ask if they have a voting plan. Give rides if you can.
• Phonebank with candidates or with PDA. We work every day of the week and you can make easy calls from home.
• Become a PDA sustainer with a monthly gift of any amount.

Our work in the next week is critically important, but we can’t stop there. We must mobilize where needed to protect the vote; there will be run-off elections and recounts that may determine the balance of power; the Democratic majorities have a busy lame duck session planned between Election Day and the end of the year; next year, we will face a new Congress, with new challenges and opportunities.
