This one is as important as any election this year. 

America needs progressive political change – and no one is more important to achieving that end than the four members of the squad: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and the representative from Michigan’s 13th district Rashida Tlaib.

Rarely in U.S. History have freshman congresspeople made an immediate impact; and the country has never seen the likes of the squad – four unflinching progressive champions, who are four brilliant women of color. 

The squad are true trailblazers, charting a new more equitable and just path for the country – one that profoundly resonates among Americans under the age of 45.

Rashida, Ilhan, Alexandria, and Ayanna are our future.  We must insure their return to Congress

Suffice to say, there is nothing the enemies of progress want more than to see any one of the Squad defeated—and by far the most vulnerable is Rashida, who faces a strong challenge in her August 4th primary.

In 2018, Rashida won election to congress by a razor-thin margin. Now, the opponent she defeated by under 1,000 votes in that primary is back with a war chest of funds raised by some of the most reactionary forces in America. They understand that a loss by a member of the squad will be devastating to the entire progressive movement.

We, at PDA, are not going to let that happen. We’re going to do everything we can to return Rashda Tlaib, a truly inspirational progressive and a great legislator, to Congress.
