Support The Student Walk Out!

Student walk-outs across the country are planned for this Friday Nov. 8th to support Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), provisions that protect the rights of people brought to the U.S.A. as kids who’ve worked hard and kelt their records spotless.

The student protest actions are geared to send a clear message to the U.S. Supreme Court: “Don’t mess with DACA.”

We at Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) fully support the student actions on Friday, as well as the planned vigils at the Supreme Court in D.C. next week. We encourage you to join or organize an action in your area. Together we can show up with power to demand freedom for all of our communities.

Pledge your support for student actions!

Pitch in generously to help PDA stand up for DREAMERs

Support Dreamers and reject the Trump administration attempts to take away the Obama era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.

Call your Senators through the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121. A switchboard operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you request. Once connected, ask to speak to or leave a message for the chief of staff.

Tell them to demand that Senate Leader McConnell bring the DREAM Act to the Senate floor for an up or down vote.

The U.S. Supreme court is set to take up the DACA issue next week. Justices will hear arguments on November 12th on cases that have made their though the lower courts.

As many of us remember, President Trump back in September 2017 ordered his administration to stop the renewing of temporary work permits to those in the DACA program.

Federal courts rejected Trumps actions by blocking his order. We are now facing a showdown in the Supreme court where the issue will be, was it legal for then President Obama to create DACA without congressional approval.

Under the repressive Trump Administration, over 700,000 Dreamers have been in living in fear of losing their legal status. These young people grew up in America, went to school and worked here most of their lives. All came to the U.S. as children and are Americans in every since of the term.

All studies show overwhelming support for approve of giving legal status to Dreamers. But that strong public support will go face to face up against a right-wing Trump agenda and will mean little to the Supreme Court’s conservative majority if it believes DACA is unlawful.

Si Se Puede!! (Yes, we can!)

P.S. PDA is working on student debt cancellation; Medicare For All; impeachment; election integrity and ending voter suppression; ending poverty and homelessness—and much more! We can’t do anything without your strong support.
