Fracking, pipelines, mining, drilling—all of these and all other carbon extraction methods threaten our climate and our drinking water, as well as our land, sea, and air. We cannot afford to keep poisoning and overheating our planet. We have no other choice. We must adopt 100% clean, renewable energy, and keep fossil fuels safely in the ground.

Policy-makers have no excuse to block decisive action! We’ve known about the worsening environmental crisis for several decades. In 1962, Rachel Carson’s alarming book Silent Springwarned us. Marie Gaye’s “Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)” explained it with passionate melody back in 1971:

Recently, the world’s leading climate scientists warned that we have only 12 years to achieve the massive transformation needed to avoid the worst effects of climate change. If governments don’t agree on strong guidelines for the Paris Agreement this year, our next chance won’t be until 2023. That’s far too late for millions of people around the world, many of whom are already experiencing climate change’s devastation.

PDA believes the Paris Agreement doesn’t go nearly far enough to address the climate crisis. Join PDA supporting the drive to 100% reneable energy and opposing carbon-based fuel, especially the incredibly destructive process of cracking apart the bedrock of the planet to extract carbon fuel known as Hydraulic Fracturing or Fracking.
