TODAY: Call the White House and Tell President Biden to Declare a Climate Emergency and End Fossil Fuels

Sep 28, 2023 | PDA News, Rapid Response

Call the White House TODAY, and help spread the word!

Over 75,000 activists stood up in New York. Hundreds of thousands around the world. All asking that leaders recognize the #ClimateEmergency and act accordingly to #EndFossilFuels and put us all on a path to sustainability, NOW.

Since the marches, peaceful civil disobedience has taken place. Activists have been arrested, and more actions are coming.

The support is building, and now it’s our job to make sure our elected officials hear us via direct contact with Congress and the White House using phone, email, zoom, social, and in-person strategies.

1) Please Make Your Call to the White House comment line Wednesday: 202-456-1111. (If that comment line is busy, try the switchboard: 202-456-1414.) Simply say “We need President Biden to use his Executive Powers to declare a Climate Emergency” or words to that effect,Brevity is key. (1 minute tops, preferably less.) Once done, let us know you called.

2) Help get other progressives to make a call. Our partners at Food and Water Watch have this really great online tool where you dial their members and can patch a live one directly into the White House comment line, live. Amazing. Sign up for that push between 1 and 3pm ET here then let us know that you’ve done it.

Just a few days after the marches and the early wave of civil disobedience outside the White House and elsewhere, the Biden Administration announced the green jobs program.

That wasn’t by accident.

We aren’t where we need to be yet, but we do have momentum and need to keep beating the drums loudly.

So far 2023 has been the hottest year on record. Earth is showing us we have no time to wait in combating the global Climate Crisis. We must act, and act decisively, now!

We hope we can count on your participation.

In solidarity,

Mike Fox for the PDA National Team

President Biden, it’s high time you declared climate emergency! What will it take? The White House itself being under water?!
