Joining With Progressives Internationally
To Implement Necessary Global Change

That’s right, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) has become one of the first organizations to join the new Progressive International that was founded earlier this month at the Sanders Institute Gathering in Burlington, Vermont. With issues increasingly crossing boarders—climate, economics, and of course warfare, migration, and refugees—it’s important that our attention and activity include this international perspective.

An outgrowth of a dialogue between Senator Bernie Sanders and former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, the International is intended to coordinate progressive forces around the world, build a global “grassroots movement for social justice,” promote policies including a global Green New Deal, and reclaim international institutions so they serve the interests of the average person not the global elite.

Help Sustain Progressive Momentum

We need your continued help to achieve our shared goals

Your automatic monthly gift will help us achieve progress
We are in the field, on the streets, on the phones, talking with voters, educating Congress, whipping votes, pushing progressive policies, and protesting against injustice every day of every year.

PDA and our sister organization People Demanding Action were deeply committed to the huge coalition effort that stopped the elite-driven power grab known as the Trans Pacific Partnership (T.P.P.) We’re also part of the international efforts to enact an Inclusive Prosperity sales tax on speculation, halt global warming, and end wars and occupations. So this is a natural outgrowth of PDA’s ongoing commitment to local, national, and global solutions.

As the “Yellow Vests” protests in France, the Brexit meltdown in the U.K., and rising unrest across the globe demonstrate, the 99% cannot accept highly unjust, exploitative, and unsustainable policies. It’s critically important that progressives unite to advance popular, common sense solutions to our challenges, and to head off right wing extremism that tends to fester and spread during tough economic times.

So, while Steve Bannon is out there organizing a global neo-fascist movement, and the status quo is already fully networked; by joining The Progressive International, PDA will be coordinating with people around the world working for a more just society and a healthy planet. This is a singular honor and a daunting task. We cannot succeed in remaking our economy, our political system, our energy, education, healthcare, and infrastructure—and more—without your sustained support.

As the year ends on such an exciting high note for progressives, we know we still have an incredible amount of work ahead. We won’t get anything from corporations or billionaires. We rely on activists like you. Please give $100, $27, $10, or $5 each month. We promise to deliver more activism per dollar than any other organization.

Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) is all about building a grassroots populist progressive majority. We worked tirelessly to help progressive candidates win in the primaries and on Election Day. These newcomers are joining our progressive champions on Capitol to demand Medicare for All and a Green New Deal. Join the movement we’ve been building since our launch in 2004. “Make your dollars holler” by becoming a Change Makes Change (CMC) monthly sustainer, or by increasing your sustainer commitment!

Our victories sustain us, and our losses only make us more determined to try harder and do better next time. In December we are working with our allies to end the illegal and immoral war in Yemen, support Medicare For All, and enact the Green New Deal. We are urging Sen. Bernie Sanders to champion progressive policy in the coming presidential primaries. Contact Mike Fox at for more information on these campaigns.

Your monthly gift sustains us and our efforts. Sustainers help us budget our time and efforts, and aid in preparing rapid response to the whirlwind of policy initiatives, reversals, court decisions, indictments, and general chaos that form our current national political environment. We need to enroll 100 new sustainers by the end of the year, and I hope you will become one of them.

If you can give $5 per month, that’s great! $10? Wonderful! $100? Spectacular! Whatever is good for you is great for us. Thanks so much for anything you can do right now to help us reach our magic 100 goal.

In solidarity,
