Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) was founded in 2004 to achieve progress on key priorities, among them clean, fair, open and transparent elections. We must not lose sight of the need for accurate, inclusive elections even as the 2020 presidential election cycle is beginning. Monday we celebrated a national holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King—a champion for voting rights, economic and racial equality, peace, and so much more. Four decades after MLK’s assassination, our elections are still marred by outrageous violations—notably in Dr. King’s home state!

Stacey Abrams is inspiring and brilliant. She should be Governor of Georgia, and would be but for dirty tricks by her opponent Brian Kemp—who as Secretary of State was responsible for protecting voting rights in Georgia. Instead, he violated his oath of office and stole the gubernatorial election for himself.
