To Endorse Bernie Sanders For President ASAP!

Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) activists voted overwhelmingly to endorse Bernie Sanders because he consistently distinguishes himself as the candidate most closely aligned with the people. Elizabeth Warren came in second. No one else was close.

On Super Tuesday, the stodgy sentinels of the status quo mustered all the tricks and tactics they could to derail our movement. They tried to bury us, but they didn’t know we’re seeds. We’re in a two-candidate showdown now, and we’re backing the best candidate.

As Bernie Sanders explained on Super Tuesday, “We are going to win the Democratic nomination. We are going to defeat Trump because we are putting together an unprecedented, grassroots, multi-generational, multiracial movement. It is a movement which speaks to the working families of this country.”

With the primaries down to a two-person contest, now is the time to get fully engaged! Pitch in to help us make progress on the issues and help us elect progressive candidates.

Like PDA, Bernie Sanders is dedicated to building and leading the mass movement we need to replace the unfair, unjust, and exploitative oligarchy with a 21st Century New Deal.

With our help, Bernie will defeat Trump in November, but that’s not enough. Bernie will also continue to mobilize millions and millions of us to reverse the damaging policies enacted by Trump, Reagan, and the Bushes—with the complicity of elitist, pro-corporate, neoliberals and neoconservatives who try to dominate both major parties.

We must work to upgrade the Congress by nominating and electing empowered, committed progressives, and by defeating every Republican we can at the polls this year and every election year.

While Trump remains the personification of right wing intolerance and incompetence, he’s just the latest in a line of imperial presidents—virtual emperors who’ve subverted the will of the people, empowered oligarchs, and enacted a neoliberal / neoconservative agenda to the detriment of the 99%.

Virtually every Republican in Congress enables and empowers Trump, and far too many Democrats go along. Help PDA elect an irresistible wave of progressive champions to build a movement powerful enough to deliver the fundamental changes we need.

Only Bernie—with the backing of progressives in Congress—will enact the policies we need: Medicare For All, the Green New Deal, humane immigration, cancellation of student debt, free public college and vocational training, ending homelessness, and much more.

Our movement will also end the massive, wasteful overspending on weapons and illegal regime change wars, unfair trade deals like Trump’s NAFTA 2.0, and other damaging, regressive policies.

Tell Congress To End Police BrutalityIn This Critical Moment, We See No Leadership From The White House We Look To Justice-Minded Members of Congress, to Step Up and Lead

Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) condemns ongoing, escalating violence against African Americans. We desperately need a national truth and reconciliation conversation to admit and rectify the scourge of structural racism, including comprehensive policy changes.

H.Res.988, cosponsored by four courageous congressional leaders, is a decisive first step. Join us demanding its passage in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In response to the brutal murder of George Floyd by a sworn peace officer, abetted and assisted by three other sworn peace officers in broad daylight, four U.S. Representatives have stepped up to lead.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN, in whose district the murder took place), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA), and Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) introduced H.Res. 988, a resolution to the U.S. House of Representatives, “condemning all acts of police brutality, racial profiling, and the use of excessive and militarized force throughout the country.”

Tell Congress To End Police Brutality

Take action now! Click Here to email your U.S. Representative and demand passage of H.Res. 988 as a first step toward seeking justice for George Floyd and so many others whose lives have been cut short by police brutality.

“From slavery to lynching to Jim Crow, black people in this country have been brutalized and dehumanized for centuries,” Rep. Omar stated last week. “We cannot fully right these wrongs until we admit we have a problem. As the People’s House, the House of Representatives must acknowledge these historical injustices and call for a comprehensive solution. There are many steps on the path to justice, but we must begin to take them.”

George Floyd is just one among the latest in a (much too) long list of victims of state-sanctioned terrorism against African Americans. We know the names of some recent victims, but for far too long records and statistics on extra-judicial police killings have not even been kept. For too many years, officers have not been charged, and—if charged—they have not been effectively prosecuted or convicted.

Email your U.S. Representative today and demand passage of the Omar-Pressley-Bass-Lee resolution (H.Res.988) condemning police brutality, racial profiling, and excessive and militarized force by police.
