This past week, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) continued our mobilizing with our partners pushing for expansive articles of impeachment to demand accountability for all of Trump’s wide-ranging high crimes and misdemeanors.

“Donald Trump betrayed his oath of office, our national security, and the integrity of our elections. He has shown a lack of moral fortitude and fitness for the office of President: repeatedly violating the emoluments clause, demonstrating contempt of Congress, and consistently engaging in obstruction of justice. It’s time to end this era of lawlessness and corruption.”

Alan Minsky, PDA’s Executive Director said, “There is no question that Donald Trump is guilty of high crimes in office, constituting impeachable acts. The House is constitutionally duty-bound to move forward and impeach this lawless president, and the Senate is similarly obligated to convict and remove him from office.”

Alan added, “Progressive Democrats of America applauds House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s measured and thoughtful approach to this process. We support the House Democrats’ commitment to upholding our Constitution. They have proven that our democracy is more important than partisan politics. This process is about a fundamental principle: No person—not even the president—is above the law.”

Mike Fox, PDA’s Deputy Director said, “Upon the drafting of our Constitution, Benjamin Franklin said we have a republic, if we can keep it. In order to keep our republic, the Congress—Democrats, Independents, and Republicans alike—must put aside partisanship and hold Trump accountable for his actions that threaten our republic.”

Mike added, “We take this solemn process very seriously, and strongly support accountability for elected officials. That’s why PDA activists will join with concerned Americans from coast to coast rallying in support of our Constitution, and demanding that our representatives impeach Trump, and our Senators convict Trump and remove him from office.”

The fight for Net Neutrality is not over! Although a federal court upheld the FCC’s repeal of Obama-era rules, States can set their own net neutrality laws!

As John Nichols’ article in The Nation “It’s Time to Fight Trump’s Assault on Net Neutrality” points out: “The courts won’t reverse Trump’s FCC. But the states, Congress, and presidential candidates can act to preserve a free and open Internet.” Now, it’s up to us. Tell Congress We Demand Net Neutrality!
