Congress has passed “emergency response” legislation that fails to address the emergency. Specifically and outrageously, our frontline healthcare professionals are still working courageously to save lives without the protective equipment they need.

Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) needs your help now! We’re working within a large, powerful coalition to demand effective legislation in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. We will overcome this crisis—all the more rapidly if we all work together and do our parts. Please take the following actions:

Click Here to tell Congress to include emergency funding for PPEs and mandate occupational and safety standards to protect healthcare professionals in the next COVID-19 legislation.

Tell Congress To Support The USPS During This Crisis! We need the Post Office to ensure delivery of medications and other necessities, as well as to allow secure, accurate vote-by-mail for primaries and the general election.

Click Here to contact Mike Fox and RSVP for our Emergency Healthcare Town Hall TOMORROW, Sunday May 10th, 1pm PT, 2pm MT, 3pm CT, 4pm ET. Dr. Bill Honigman and special guests will answer your questions and discuss your concerns.

During this crisis, we’re relying on the U.S. Postal Service more than ever for delivery of basic necessities including medications. Even as we make plans for voting-by-mail that will dramatically increase already onerous pressures on the USPS, the Service struggles to cope with absurd, arbitrary pension requirements.

Click Here to tell Congress that the next emergency response legislation must adequately fund the USPS.

There is a real opportunity for student debt cancellation to be part of the next stimulus package. Now is the time to make sure our voices are heard.

Act now! Congress will vote on the next COVID-19 legislation as early as next week. 46 million Americans are carrying a staggering sum total of 1.7 trillion dollars of student debt. Millions feel trapped, with no hope of paying off their debt. Sign the Petition Telling Congress to Cancel Student Debt.

We’re horrified at the ongoing oppression of immigrants and asylum seekers. Our immigration policies have long needed fundamental reform. Even before the COVID-19 crisis, innocent people—including infants and children—were suffering and dying in custody.

Now, Trump is persecuting and scapegoating immigrants once again, using Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to terrorize people in hospitals, schools, and their homes.

Click here to tell your Representative and Senators to vote to defund and abolish ICE, to quickly pass the bipartisan Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, and to end inhumane and deadly abuses against immigrants and asylum-seekers.

Find out what we’re doing in response to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, and how you can help. Please contact Mike Fox to RSVP to join TOMORROW’S Emergency Healthcare Webinar. You must RSVP. The access codes, phone numbers, etc. have changed.

Can’t make the call but still want to help our healthcare campaigns? Contact us and we’ll keep you as busy as you’d like to be.

Can’t volunteer? Then pitch in what you can to help support our ongoing emergency response efforts, our campaign for Medicare For All, and other policies we need to effectively respond to the pandemic, to promote an equitable economic recovery, and to upgrade our healthcare system.

We can’t go back to business as usual after the pandemic crisis is over. We need to mobilize now for the Post-COVID-19 world. That’s why PDA supports the comprehensiveGreen New Deal agenda.

To ensure our immediate and long-term survival, we need the Green New Deal—policies to create millions of new, highly-paid, sustainable jobs, to build critically-needed infrastructure, to free ourselves from household debt, and to enhance our social safety net.

We need an empowered, progressive mass movement to demand the policies and government responses needed to save lives and rebuild our shattered economy. We need your generous support to get there.

P.S.: Please remember to RSVP to Mike Fox to join our Healthcare Emergency Virtual Town Hall / Webinar TOMORROW, Sunday 5/10 from 4-5pm ET, 1-2pm PT. Mike will provide all the call-in information.

Then, join PDA investing to enact Medicare For All and science-based, effective, emergency COVID-19 response policies.

Tell Congress To End Police BrutalityIn This Critical Moment, We See No Leadership From The White House We Look To Justice-Minded Members of Congress, to Step Up and Lead

Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) condemns ongoing, escalating violence against African Americans. We desperately need a national truth and reconciliation conversation to admit and rectify the scourge of structural racism, including comprehensive policy changes.

H.Res.988, cosponsored by four courageous congressional leaders, is a decisive first step. Join us demanding its passage in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In response to the brutal murder of George Floyd by a sworn peace officer, abetted and assisted by three other sworn peace officers in broad daylight, four U.S. Representatives have stepped up to lead.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN, in whose district the murder took place), Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA), and Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) introduced H.Res. 988, a resolution to the U.S. House of Representatives, “condemning all acts of police brutality, racial profiling, and the use of excessive and militarized force throughout the country.”

Tell Congress To End Police Brutality

Take action now! Click Here to email your U.S. Representative and demand passage of H.Res. 988 as a first step toward seeking justice for George Floyd and so many others whose lives have been cut short by police brutality.

“From slavery to lynching to Jim Crow, black people in this country have been brutalized and dehumanized for centuries,” Rep. Omar stated last week. “We cannot fully right these wrongs until we admit we have a problem. As the People’s House, the House of Representatives must acknowledge these historical injustices and call for a comprehensive solution. There are many steps on the path to justice, but we must begin to take them.”

George Floyd is just one among the latest in a (much too) long list of victims of state-sanctioned terrorism against African Americans. We know the names of some recent victims, but for far too long records and statistics on extra-judicial police killings have not even been kept. For too many years, officers have not been charged, and—if charged—they have not been effectively prosecuted or convicted.

Email your U.S. Representative today and demand passage of the Omar-Pressley-Bass-Lee resolution (H.Res.988) condemning police brutality, racial profiling, and excessive and militarized force by police.
