We Desperately Need Medicare For All
In solidarity, Mike Hersh for Alan, Dr. Bill, Dan, Janis, Deb, Kimberly, Bryan, Mike F., and Shayna—your PDA national team.
Can I Get Real For A Minute?
Today, on Medicare For All (MFA) Monday, I want to share a few things with you. Last week, I went to the dentist for the first time in years. Even though I have health coverage, and have for years, it does not include dental care. MFA will include dental as well as all other healthcare. Despite needing attention for years, I put off seeing a dentist. They weren’t able to save my tooth, and it had to be pulled—but I’m lucky. My situation wasn’t life-threatening.
All over the United States of America, right this very moment, people are delaying care, skipping their medications, and otherwise risking their lives. All this because we haven’t mustered the political will to enact Improved Medicare For All which will save 10,000s of lives and 100s of $billions every year. Help PDA and our allies force the politicians to listen!

MFA Activist Ady Barken Testifies at the Rules Committee
As Rep. Jayapal Looks On. Tell Congress We Need MFA!
A few weeks ago, we watched the riveting first-ever Congressional hearings on MFA in the House Rules Committee. Heroic activist Ady Barken risked his life to testify before the committee which includes our PDA Advisory Board members Rep. Jim McGovern (the committee chair), and Rep. Jamie Raskin (one of PDA’s original cofounders). Jamie offered heartfelt testimony about his own personal healthcare struggles.
The Budget Committee and the Ways and Means Committee will hold hearings later this month and soon thereafter. Time is of the essence! To prevail, we must have as many cosponsors as we can get! Call Congress at 202-858-1717 and Click Here to tell your Representative to Cosponsor Rep. Jayapal’s and Rep. Debbie Dingell’s Medicare For All Act. Also, Click Here to tell your Senators to cosponsor Bernie’s MFA legislation.
