We Demand A Clean Dream Act!

Help Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) stand up for the brave, hardworking DREAMers! Tell Congress: We demand a Clean Dream Act. Call the US Capitol Switchboard at (202)-224-3121, ask to be connected to your Senators’ and Representative’s offices. Ask to speak to (or leave a voicemail for) the staffer working on Immigration or Judiciary issues. Say you’re their constituent and you demand that they work for a clean Dream Act—the bipartisan compromise to fix our broken immigration system without any right wing provisions that would undermine American values.
Help PDA support the DREAMer’s March. DREAMers and allies will march from N.Y. to D.C. They will start on February 15th and arrive in D.C. on March 1st to launch a week of actions leading up to the March 5th, arbitrary deadline Trump recklessly and unilaterally imposed on the DACA (Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals) program.
The Huff Post reports Congress Is About To Show Whether It Really Wants To Protect Dreamers by Elise Foley:
For months, immigrant rights activists believed their best chance to help young undocumented people was to get Democrats to insist on protections for them in a must-pass spending legislation. That strategy, however, is now dead. And their best hope going forward may be to rely on the goodwill of Republicans. Instead of forcing the GOP to swallow a bill to help undocumented youths, they need the GOP to instead decide they truly want one….
Or it could be because they don’t want to suffer political damage caused by an inevitable string of news stories about young people who came to the U.S. as children being detained and deported once they begin to lose protections at a rate of about 1,000 per day starting in early March….
The Senate is set to begin floor debate next week on a bill to provide relief for Dreamers, 700,000 of whom will lose Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival work permits and deportation protections over the next two years because President Donald Trump rescinded the program. [Read the article here.]

That means passing the bipartisan solution without any vindictive right wing extremist provisions.
That means no useless, expensive wall. No oppressive immigration raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). That means no vindictive punishment of states and localities that protect basic constitutional rights. Tell Congress that the solution to the current crisis that Trump created is simple: Pass a clean Dream Act Now!Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to join the DREAMers Advocacy Team. He’ll send you information about protests in your city or state.
PDA’s position on immigration policy is clear. Trump’s reactionary nationalism, framing the plight of DREAMers as somehow in competition with the working class, is dangerous xenophobia. Declaring that “Americans are dreamers, too” was certainly the saddest and sickest part of his speech. Do not tell us that “Making America Great Again” is all about creating walls and borders between us and them. We will not fall for it! The People United Will Never Be Defeated! El Pueblo Unido Jamas Sera Vencido!
