Progressive Democrats of America is determined to achieve #SinglePayer expanded and improved #MedicareForAll because we know that’s how we finally get ALL of the healthcare to ALL of the people in this country. With over 700,000 now as a national death toll, #COVID19 has shown us how inadequate, inequitable, and unjust American-style healthcare is, at its very worst.
We can do better. We must do better.
Why and how is it that Canadians and others in similarly advanced countries of the world are faring so much better in this time of great public health challenge? Beyond the cultural differences, what institutional and structural differences have allowed them to access trusted quality care that has meant survival for them, and tragically limited and untrustworthy care with so many preventable deaths for us?
We don’t deserve what we’re getting. We can and must do better.
Join us this Sunday and every Sunday throughout this pandemic for the PDA Healthcare Emergency Online Town Hall 4p Eastern / 1p Pacific. This Sunday, October 10th, we discuss the above topic with great friend of PDA and Health Systems Analyst Dr. Henry Broeska, Ph.D., Canadian expatriate now living in Orange County, CA, who will share his reflections on the Canadian healthcare system and some personal observations on a recent return visit home to Manitoba, where the Delta variant was similarly threatening there but markedly less devastating than here at the time.
And as always, please sign up to volunteer for PDA, and donate as you are able.
Thanks, and onward!
