At his victory celebration on Tuesday night, Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson cited Dr. Martin Luther King’s observation that “if we can figure it out in Chicago, we can do it anywhere in the world.”

Then, Johnson added “Chicago, today we took big steps towards figuring it out here… so let’s take this bold progressive movement around these United States of America.”

That, right there, is the PDA creed!

On Tuesday, we won in Wisconsin and in Chicago—and also in St Louis and elsewhere. It was a great night—one of the best for our vibrant progressive movement. But it means nothing, if we don’t all get behind the incoming Johnson Administration in Chicago; and, as Brandon said, take this positive transformative political movement to every part of the country.

That is exactly what we are going to do at PDA.

On deck are runoff elections in Colorado, major races in Pennsylvania and elsewhere, and then every single seat in the Virginia legislature (in both houses) is up for grabs this summer, along with other important elections beyond.
