Tell Congress Not To Fund The Border Wall!

While much attention is focused on the (partial) release of the Mueller report, this administration’s march toward authoritarianism continues unabated in its oppressive immigration policies. Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) works in conjunction with allied activist organizations to combat these egregious and inhumane immigration policies.

Tell Congress There’s No Need For A Wall

The White House works daily on multiple levels to demonize immigrants and to paint them as violent and dangerous. Legal asylum seekers are denied bond hearings, and are being incarcerated at the border.  Family separation policies are being revisited.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is cracking down on undocumented immigrants in public housing. Restrictions on legal immigration are growing. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients remain in limbo despite recent favorable court rulings and a House bill introduced last month.

Meanwhile, the administration is moving quickly to award contracts for border wall construction, using re-allocated Department of Defense funding stemming from Trump’s National Emergency declaration. On Tuesday, the U.S. House filed a motion to stop this misuse of funds. Other ongoing suits by individual states, the Sierra Club, and others are also requesting injunctions.
