Trump may be currently out of the national spotlight, but his toxic legacy is being carried forward by Republicans at every level of government and the right-wing “news”/propaganda machine. Anti-voting, anti-gun safety, anti-LGBTQ+ (concentrating on trans teens as the new scare tactic in culture wars), anti-free speech and free assembly, and anti-abortion laws are being written and passed in state legislatures with dizzying speed. Conspiracy theories swirl around not just Democrats, but around any Republican office-holder deemed insufficiently loyal to the Trumpian mythos.

As much as we want to move on from the nightmare of the past four years, Trump loyalists are trying to drag the country back to a white supremacist fever dream.
