This Sunday, Join Nadine Smith and send the message to Trump: You cannot dictate culture or eliminate civil rights. RSVP now!
Join us this Sunday at 4pm ET / 1pm PT. After one week, we understand Trump’s agenda. With one voice, we must say: You will never win, because we will defend freedom and the American people want liberty. RSVP Now!
After Donald Trump was elected President on November 5th, some commentators speculated that he would not be as aggressively reactionary as his campaign suggested. Well, they were wrong.
We can have no illusions anymore. After an avalanche of executive orders, it is evident that Trump is not only pursuing the most right-wing agenda seen on this continent since the Confederacy, but he is actually trying to reverse the one space in which conservatives have felt they have lost consistently to the left – the realm of culture. Well, Donald, we’re here to tell you that this is not going to work. No amount of patriarchal machismo bravado is going to convince the majority of the population of America that politicians can dictate their love, behavior, or identity.
That does not mean that the executive of the federal government cannot pervert established laws. As such, we at PDA will stand in solidarity with every community under attack, and call upon all of our fellow citizens to join us.
We could not have a better guest than Nadine Smith, Executive Director of Equality Florida to join us this week and provide her perspective on the battles ahead to protect the rights and safety of all citizens and residents in the country.
Town Hall #1 of the Trump 2.0 era begins at 4pm ET / 1pm PT. Join us this Sunday! RSVP NOW
We look forward to seeing you, and invite a friend or two!
In solidarity,
Alan Minsky for the PDA National Team
PS: There’s also a special event after the Town Hall on Sunday. The DNC Poverty Council, led by one of PDA’s greatest champions, Susie Shannon, will be hosting a forum at 6:15pm ET / 3:15pm PT with the candidates to be the next chair of the DNC. We will send out the sign-up information for that event in upcoming emails.
Are weekly sessions available for later viewing? The weekly time is usually not good for me.
