This Sunday: Defuse Nuclear War, Decommission Nuclear Power. RSVP for the Town Hall now!

Sep 22, 2023 | PDA News

Join us Sunday at 4pm ET/1pm PT. This week’s Town Hall will focus on Nuclear Matters. First we will hear about the escalated threat of nuclear Armageddon and a week of action to oppose this madness. Then we will have an update on efforts to shut down Nuclear Power plants across the country and replace them with renewable energy. RSVP Now!

In the first hour of this Sunday’s Town Hall, we will be joined by Emma Claire Foley from RootsAction, who will offer an overview of why the threat of nuclear war is so high right now.  Emma will also update us on the activism and strategy of international movements opposing nuclear proliferation and war, with which PDA is aligned.

We will also learn about the Defuse Nuclear War week of action, which begins on Sunday.  PDA is a co-sponsoring organization of Defuse Nuclear War.

Then in the second hour of the Town Hall, we will be joined by legendary anti-nuclear activist Harvey Wasserman and Linda Seeley, Vice-President of Mothers for Peace. Harvey and Linda will provide updates on the on-going efforts to shut down Nuclear Power plants in California, across the country and the world.  They will also share promising news about the growth of renewable energy, and how our activism is essential if we’re going to overcome the greed of the toxic energy industries and do the right thing for the people and the planet.

See you on Sunday. CLICK HERE to RSVP now!

In solidarity,
Alan Minsky for the PDA National Team

One of my comments when I got through to the White House msg line on Thursday was to stop using green new deal money for nuclear power since it’s the most dangerous to the entire world. Maybe have another call the white day just for that issue?
