This Sunday: An Environmental Champion, plus a Radical Rebirth for the Environmental Movement
PDA-Endorsed Climate Champion Candidate in RI-1, Aaron Regunberg Joins Us This Sunday at 4pm ET/1pm PT; along with PDA’s Russell Greene to Talk about the upcoming #EndFossilFuels March in NYC. RSVP Now!
To paraphrase Leonard Cohen: Everybody Knows that the planet is burning / Everybody Knows we’re not doing enough / Everybody Knows that has to change.
So, the time has come—not to talk of many things—but to take action. This Sunday, PDA will do doing just that. How so? Our classic inside/outside strategy! We elect progressive champions, and we take to the streets!
First, we will hear from PDA-endorsed candidate Aaron Regunberg, who is running in the special election to fill the House seat vacated by Rep. David Cicilline. Aaron is a true climate champion candidate. Through his experience in the Rhode Island State Legislature, and as an anti-fossil fuel industry activist lawyer, Regunberg knows how to take on the oil companies and win—and on Sunday we’re going to organize to win the upcoming RI-1 primary! You’re going to want to hear from Aaron and help deliver a victory of September 5. RSVP Now!
Second, we will hear from PDA’s Senior Strategic Advisor on climate, Russell Greene, who will outline PDA’s no-holds-barred climate emergency actions over the next five weeks, leading up to the historic #Endfossilfuels March in NYC on September 17th, for which PDA is an official endorsing organization. So, yes, we’ll hear about the NYC march and a historic week of climate activism across the country (and the world!), but we’ll also learn about PDA’s big push for an official declaration of climate emergency in the weeks before.
The simple truth is this: The future of the beautiful ecosytem that has nurtured all life on planet earth is in jeopardy. We cannot—and will not!—sit idle and allow this unrivaled catastrophe to unfold. Join us on Sunday as we help spark a revived climate emergency movement, guided by what science says is necessary: ending fossil fuel production.
