The coming of a new year, even one as fraught with ill portents as this one, provides opportunities to reset goals, renew our spirit and energy, and rededicate ourselves to progressive policies. If we don’t have access to the levers of power on the federal and international levels, we can organize on local and state levels.

Solar, wind, and EV installations are being made possible by funds from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), passed in August 2022 under the Biden administration.

The Senate passed the IRA 51-50, with Vice President Harris breaking the tie, and the House passed it on a party-line vote of 220-207. Now progressives did not get everything we wanted in this bill, but it remains the largest step to date at the federal level toward climate amelioration and sustainable energy production.

We safeguard these programs by educating voters and raising awareness from Hawai’i, California, and Alaska through the Mountain West, Southwest, Plains, Midwest, and Deep South up to the tip of Maine. We work with allied organizations to challenge bad policy and promote solid progressives for office. In other words, we organize, organize, and organize some more.

The work is hard, though, and requires all of us to dig in with time and treasure. Volunteer today and/or donate monthly to ensure progressive success in 2025!
