Although we won’t endorse a candidate who is not pro-choice—regardless of gender or identity—we think it’s especially important to focus on those whose body autonomy is being attacked today.
Last year, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded forcefully to the steady erosion of women’s reproductive rights in legislative chambers:
None of this is about supporting life. What this is about is controlling women’s bodies. And controlling people who are not cisgender men…. What that shares with rape culture is that sexual assault is about the abuse of power, and sexual assault is about asserting control over another person.

While we’re generally peaceful folks here at PDA, we also see the need for us to elect fighters to Congress in these troubling times. We need aggressive advocates for our positions who aren’t afraid to stand up to the status quo and take the slings and arrows for us all in order to attain victory.
