In 2014, PDA transformed American politics. We were the the sole national organization to draft Bernie Sanders to run for President as a Democrat; launching our Run Bernie Run campaign in February 2014. We understood that Bernie Sanders had a message that would resonate across the country.

The rest, as they say, is history.  Bernie’s first Presidential campaign revived the American left; and today progressive politics are substantially more influential than at any time since the 1970s. But history, to paraphrase Shakespeare, is prologue.

With the rise of the progressive left, American politics now has three distinct political ideologies battling it out inside our two-party system: the reactionaries, the conservatives, and the progressives.  The reactionaries are the Trumpian Republicans. The conservatives are the neo-liberal “moderates,” who range from the Romney-wing of the GOP through the Clinton/Obama Democrats, and who represent the status quo politics of the past forty years.

We, with our legions of allies, are the progressives!  We are the ones with an inspiring transformational program to create a just and equitable America, rooted in policies that prioritize the people and the planet.

In the midterm election cycle and beyond, PDA will be supporting the candidates that will continue what we started back in 2014. The possibilities for substantial progressive gains across the country in 2022 is profound.  PDA will be delivering the progressive message from sea-to-shining sea and beyond. Our core policies are already favored by the majority of Americans. The more that people hear our message, the more we win – and the more we win, the more our democratic society is strengthened.
