Democrats Can Choose Progressive Change or Politics as Usual: What Will it Be?
Good news: recent polls show Democratic candidates gaining on their Republican opponents.
Challenging news: it’s a long way to November 8, 2022, and the only polls that matter close on that day.
We’ve had some successes in the primaries, getting progressive candidates on the ballot. Primaries continue through August, and we must ensure that people have good choices in November.
We need candidates standing for policies that inspire people—such as Medicare for All, Civil and Human Rights for All, an unwavering commitment to the environment, and economic policies that benefit people over plutocrats.
We must have a backbone stronger than any opponents—no more rolling over, no more triangulation.
Our candidates must clearly state that we stand for non-violence and the achievement of, to borrow a phrase from the civil rights movement, “the beautiful community.”
We, at PDA, work for these things seven days a week, 365 days a year, and right now we’re on a hard deadline: November 8.
Help us continue and expand our work: become a PDA sustainer today.
Thanks so much for anything you can do.
