The Election Isn’t Over!
In solidarity, Mike Hersh for Alan, Mike F., Mike H., Dr. Bill, Deb, Janis, Dan, Kimberly, Bryan, and Shayna—Your PDA National Team
The 2018 Elections are not over! Several key contests are too close to call, making recounts and runoffs likely if not inevitable. Schemes to tilt the results are still underway, including ongoing efforts to halt full initial counts. Extremist Rick Scott is on record vowing to block efforts by those he calls “unethical liberals” to enforce established voting rights protections in his dead-heat U.S. Senate election in Florida.
Mike “Phone Guy” Fox is on the ground in Florida right now helping to coordinate voter protection efforts. People Demanding Action Executive Director Andrea Miller is continuing her exemplary voter protection work as well. Please donate now to help us fight for every vote. That means mobilizing against those who are trying to throw our votes away and otherwise undermine our democracy. We know what to do. Since our founding in 2004, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) has championed Election Integrity.

PDA helped organize with House Judiciary Committee leadership to investigate voter suppression in Ohio back in 2005. Our Advisory Board member Mimi Kennedy is a long-standing leader in the movement for clean, open, transparent elections. Andrea Miller works within a huge coalition to protect voting rights.
I worked at a non-partisan election protection command center on Election Day this year and in 2016 alongside attorneys, election experts, and law students addressing hundreds of instances of intentional and preventable voter suppression in real time. Our work is not over. Please pitch in now to help PDA defend your voting rights!
During the lead up to Election Day, Mimi warned of the impending threats to our democracy:
Progressive candidates must win. But they can’t if progressive voters are suppressed—either before they vote (Voter ID laws, felon disenfranchisement, illegal purges, polling place intimidation) or after (rigged, unaudited counts, procedural “mistakes”).
Tom Hayden was surrounded by PDAers at our first conference in D.C. in January, 2005. Answering our questions, he finally said, in wonder, “I know you’re all about ending the war, but I can’t believe how many of you are telling me you think the war happened because of election fraud.”
Yes, we did. And we do. We won’t know the good our country is still capable of until our elections are honest. If you want to take further helpful action, donate to PDA.

DONATE to support this historic effort. We must make sure that all votes are counted accurately. To do that, we must overcome ongoing voter suppression and election theft efforts to ensure that all our votes are counted as cast—not hacked or discounted through partisan chicanery!
