Tell Congress We Need The Green New Deal

PDA called on you and all of our other activists to show up for an emergency letter drop, and you responded by visiting a remarkable number of congressional district offices, Andrea Miller, the indefatigable Executive Director of PDAction, dropped everything to lead visits to congressional offices on Capitol Hill.

As of this writing, the Green New Deal effort has 40 House co-sponsors, and we’re aiming for more! Please use this action alert to contact your elected officials, and then share the alert on social media, by email, etc.

The Green New Deal is overwhelmingly popular all across the political spectrum. As the The Huffington Post reports:

81 percent of registered voters say they either “somewhat support” or “strongly support” the plan, according to new survey results shared exclusively with HuffPost from the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and George Mason University.

Ninety-two percent of Democrats supported the idea, including 93 percent of liberal Democrats and 90 percent of moderate-to-conservative Democrats. But 64 percent of Republicans―including 75 percent of moderate-to-liberal Republicans and 57 percent of conservative Republicans―also backed the policy goals outlined in the Green New Deal. Eighty-eight percent of independents endorsed the policies as well.

We must act to confront the climate emergency now. Delay is not an option. Denial is not an option. Despair is not an option. The Green New Deal will enact the polices we need!
