There have been few times in American history more troubling than the first weeks of 2026. An out-of-control presidential administration that refuses to be constrained by law or custom has granted immunity to its heavily-armed masked and anonymous paramilitary force that is kidnapping and attacking residents in cities across the country. It must be a nightmare – it can’t happen here, right? – but it’s real. All evidence suggests it’s only just beginning…

So, as always, we must raise the most important question: What is to be done?
