Sunday’s Town Hall: Live from the NYC Climate March—RSVP now!
Join PDA’s Alan Minsky and Russell Greene this Sunday at 4pm ET/1pm PT for a very special Town Hall. Alan and Russell will be coming to you live from the streets of New York, from a march that promises to be the largest climate emergency mobilization since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. RSVP Now!
This Sunday’s March to End Fossil Fuels is indeed a historic event—for at least two reasons. First, the march is designed to be a complimentary prelude to the U.N. Climate Ambition Summit, that opens on Wednesday, September 20. The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, has called for the Ambition Summit to pressure world leaders to take real steps to lead us off fossil fuels to protect people and the planet. Guterres doesn’t mince words. He understands that world leaders have failed us so far; so he is doing everything he can to shake things up. Rarely has a U.N. Secretary General taken such bold action.
The second reason Sunday’s March has major historical significance is that people, just like U.N. Secretary General Guterres, are waking up to the fact that the climate emergency movement is not yet strong enough to defeat the fossil fuel industry. During the PDA Town Hall, we’ll be interrogating this all-important question. Simply put, for the sake of everyone on the planet, we need a climate movement strong enough to win. How can we make that happen ASAP?
