Sunday Progressive Town Hall: Public Health and Medicare for All

Dr. Bill Honigman for the PDA National Team

Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) continues to bring light to the issue of our inadequate and unjust #Healthcare in the U.S. #COVID19 has shown us that the underserved in this country, who by virtue of the status quo remain uninsured and underinsured, were first to die and continue in greatest numbers to die from this public health emergency.

Now, the #Monkeypox virus (MPXV) is plaguing a subsegment of the population, and threatens to extend to the population at large. How will we respond to this latest public health threat, with a healthcare system that still caters to commercial interests, not public needs?

#SinglePayer expanded and improved #MedicareForAll (MFA) remains the gold standard for responding to such healthcare needs. PDA stands in support of those candidates who are running for public office on this most critical issue.

Join us for the Sunday PDA Progressive Online Town Hall this week as we return to the discussion of Healthcare as a Human Right. This Sunday Aug 7th 4pm ET / 1pm PT we will welcome back laboratory and clinical scientist Dr. David Cohen, Ph.D., with updates on the status of COVID-19 and the new threat of MPXV.  We’ll also hear from PDA leaders and staff on the state of progressive electoral politics in the midterm elections to date, and prospects for moving forward with MFA. And finally, and most importantly, we’ll hear from you, the participants, what you think about the current state of healthcare in America, and what you think we need to do next about it.

Register for the Sunday Town Hall. Please sign up to volunteer and donate to make this all happen.

Thanks as always for all you are doing. See you on Sunday!
