Sunday Progressive Town Hall: How We Win the Midterms
In solidarity,
Alan Minsky for the PDA National Team
When the primary season finally ends on Tuesday, the stage will be set for the midterm elections. Join us Sunday at 4pm ET / 1pm PT to discuss how PDA will help defeat the MAGA Republicans and win victories for progressives
The last two times a Democratic President was elected the Party held majorities in both Houses of Congress, just like today. Then, in both 1994 and 2010, catastrophe struck. The Democrats suffered historic defeats in the midterms. What should progressives do to help prevent similar results this November?
Finding a winning strategy will be the subject of this Sunday’s Progressive Town Hall. Sign up here.
So, even as we work tirelessly to lift our final PDA-endorsed primary candidate, David Segal (RI-2), to victory on Tuesday, we have to determine our strategy for the general election in the fall.
One thing that is different in 2022 than 1994 and 2010 is the presence of a strong Progressive movement inside the Democratic Party. In fact, our wing of the Party is so sizable that Democrats will fail to maintain their majorities in Congress without a strong progressive turnout. Sadly, the Party leadership is centrist and will not be promoting a strong progressive agenda. Therefore, it’ll be up to organizations like PDA to motivate progressives to vote.
On Sunday we’ll be discussing how PDA will help lift progressive champions like John Fetterman, Mandela Barnes, Katie Porter, and Jamie McLeod-Skinner to victory in their close races—just as we mobilize across the entire country so that the Democrats can hold onto the House and expand their majority in the Senate.
Hope to see you Sunday!
P.S.: Can’t make town hall? Then please volunteer and/or donate to support our efforts now.
