Stand with Starbucks Strikers Thursday during “Red Cup Rebellion”
Show Your Support for Striking Starbucks Workers Thursday, November 16
From our brothers and sisters at the AFL-CIO:
Thousands of Starbucks employees will be participating in a nationwide strike on Thursday, November 16th. Dubbed the “Red Cup Rebellion” Day of Action, the strike will take place on the most profitable day of the year when customers flock to Starbucks to receive a reusable holiday-themed “Red Cup” with their purchases as a company promotion.
Striking workers will take this opportunity to let the public know that 1) Starbucks is refusing to come to the bargaining table; 2) they are suing the union – Starbucks Workers United; 3) Starbucks is withholding benefits from unionized employees like training and certification programs.
Starbucks, which posted $3.3 billion in profits last year, has become the most prolific union-busting company in modern history.
Join an action near you on Thursday, and email any pics you can take to mikefox@pdamerica.org so we can toss them around on social media.
Don’t have an event near you but want to help? Volunteer and/or donate towards our ongoing efforts to support organized labor.
Thanks so much for anything you can do.
In solidarity,
Mike Fox for the PDA National Team
