The people of the world need to stop pouring CO2 and methane into the atmosphere, plain and simple. If we fail to do so, global temperatures will continue to rise, and we will destroy our habitat. The scientific community has understood this causal relationship for decades, and has readily shared this information with the world. And, yet, adequate steps have not been taken to alter our behavior.
Why? Because CO2 and methane emissions are central to how we fuel our modern industrialized, high-tech societies. Given these circumstances, it will take massive investments, plus state laws and regulations to force the necessary transition away from fossil fuels to renewable energy systems that will no longer actively poison the earth—and our politicians have failed to act.
PDA understands this reality, and the central role played by U.S. politicians in this avoidable tragedy. Therefore, we have designed, along with our partners at Food & Water Watch, what we believe is the most impactful program for people who really want to do something to save our global ecosystem: our Congressional Climate Liaison Program.
Sign up for our Climate Liaison Training Program here—it’s Wednesday night at 8pm ET/5pm PT.
There’s no two ways about it: we need the U.S. Congress to change U.S. laws, while also incentivizing the production of renewable energy systems in order to achieve two absolutely essential goals:
- Take us off of fossil fuels (the primary source of CO2 and methane emissions);
- Improve and build out our renewable energy systems to full capacity as an example for the rest of the world to model.
To get there, we need you—citizen constituents—to pressure your federal elected officials to take action, and hold them accountable. The way to do that is to become a PDA Climate Liaison—sign up today!
I’m ready; but mine might be one of the easiest. My representative (Huffman; CA-02) is a member of the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis and is an original cosponsor of the Green New Deal resolution.
Now I get to see how ready he is for us!
