Sign this Petition and Share it with Friends, Family, and Co-workers. Tell Congress and the President to Certify the Ratification of the ERA

With the recent ruling by the reactionary majority on the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, there has never been a more urgent moment to declare that all citizens have the same rights regardless of their sex.

Now is the time to make the Equal Rights Amendment the law of the land.

Sign this petition to demand Congress act, and act now.

Once you’ve signed, please share it on all social media platforms and everyone you know. Here’s the full text of the petition:

Petition Calling on Congress to certify the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment

The ERA, as a proposed Amendment to the US Constitution, has already been passed by a two-thirds majority in both Houses of Congress, and approved by the required number (38) of States. As such, it has crossed the threshold for ratification. All that is required now is a simple majority vote to affirm its ratification.

In light of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling reversing the established law of Roe v. Wade, limiting the rights of women and all people with uteruses to control their own bodies, it is essential that Congress (and, if deemed necessary, the President) finalize the ratification of the ERA now.

Therefore, we call upon Congress to act now to certify the ratification of the ERA!

The Equal Rights Amendment to the United States Constitution, which was passed by Congress in 1972 and by the required 38 states, reads: “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.”

This petition will be delivered to every Congressional office and the White House during the first week of the July session of Congress (between 7/12-7/15).

This should have been passed decades ago.
