Sicko Film Stars Reunion during Healthcare Emergency Town Hall Sunday. RSVP Now!
Dr. Bill for the PDA National Team
This week Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) reflects on the challenge of #HealthcareJustice as was first brought to the attention of many of us back in the tumultuous early 2000s, and what #COVID19 tells us now about the even more urgent need for #MedicareForAll.
This week’s PDA Emergency Healthcare Town Hall will give us the chance to see the pandemic from yet another perspective.
Fourteen years ago in 2007, a group of Americans appeared in Michael Moore’s award winning documentary, SiCKO. Some were patients damaged by the U.S. profit driven healthcare industry, some lost people they loved to healthcare system greed, and still others worked in communities where the ravages of that greed took a terrible human toll. These were real people, real Americans who didn’t make money from their appearances, and nearly all of them continue to work in their communities to see health finally become a human right for all.
Rev. Andy Bales, Adrian Montgomery, Reggie Cervantes, Julie Pierce-Waite, and Larry and I will join our call this Sunday, June 27, for powerful reflections on their experiences and continuing efforts in the years since SiCKO.
So, join us for the PDA Healthcare Emergency Town Hall this and every Sunday 4p ET / 1p PT. This Sunday, June 27, PDA National Advisory Board Chair Donna Smith will lead the SiCKO reunion panel discussion. We will also feature additional guest speaker, author, and advocate Nicolas J. S. (Sandy) Davies, on Vaccine Internationalism.
Thanks so much for anything you can do.
Hope to see you Sunday!
