RVSP For Sunday’s Town Hall: Illinois Primary, Saving FEMA, Stopping Trump

Mar 13, 2026 | PDA News

RSVP here for Sunday’s Town Hall. We’ll be discussing the Illinois primary, the fight to save FEMA and our nation’s emergency response system from Trump’s attacks, and where we stand as an anti-war movement in this critical moment.

Abby McIlraith spoke out to warn the country that the Trump administration was undermining our ability to respond to natural disasters. For telling the truth, she was suspended, placed on administrative leave—and has not returned to her job.

Her story is a reminder of the moment we are in. She’ll be one of our guests this Sunday.

We also hope to highlight Junaid Ahmed, who is running for Congress in Illinois. He is the only candidate in the state endorsed by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and he also has the support of Bernie Sanders and our organization. If he wins Tuesday’s primary, the seat would shift from a corporate Democrat to a progressive Democrat.

And we’ll hear from Jonathan White, who worked inside the federal government during the first Trump administration to oppose the policy of separating children from their parents at the Southwest border. Though he was unable to stop the policy at the time, he later helped lead the effort to reunite families—and now he’s running for Congress in Maryland.

Whether you’ve been organizing for years or are just getting involved, this town hall is a place to learn, connect, and leave energized for the work ahead.

Movements grow when people come together.

Your voice matters.
Your ideas matter.
Your participation matters.

Join us this Sunday and be part of the conversation.

In solidarity,

Alan Minsky and the PDA National Team
