RSVP NOW for Sunday’s Pre-Debate PDA Town Hall

Sep 6, 2024 | PDA News

Join us this Sunday at 4pm est/1pm pst when we’ll be looking forward to Tuesday’s Presidential Debate, which promises to be a defining moment in a razor-close election with immense consequences. RSVP Now!

david-zuckerman_crop_flip.jpgIn 1960, 1980, 1984, 1992 (Bush looking at his watch), and, arguably, in 2012 (down and then up), the Presidential debates generated moments that came to define those elections. So, its true they aren’t always a determining factor – but, as every campaign will tell you, every other one of them represents a missed opportunity.

So, there’s no question they are a spectacle that can’t be missed.

Strangely, each of Trump’s debates were approached as if it were a given that they would become renowned like those listed above – but none have to date.

Indeed, that’s how much of the mainstream media will, no doubt, frame Tuesday’s debate – can the former prosecutor finally entrap the serial prevaricator in his web of deceit?

And, at Sunday’s Town Hall, we’ll no doubt consider this angle.  But, we’re PDA, so we’ll also focus upon the substantive differences between the candidates.  We will also consider how we can best assist with the mission at hand, which is getting the voting public to understand that this is a pivotal moment in our country’s history, that Donald Trump must be defeated to preserve our democracy – and, yes, Kamala Harris’ policies are much better for the people and the planet.

And, yes, since we won’t be able to resist…  we’ll imagine how the public would respond if the progressive policies and ideas featured at Progressive Central 2024 were ever given full voice on a Presidential debate stage in September of a leap year.

We’ll be joined by the inspirational progressive Lt. Governor of Vermont, David Zuckerman, so you definitely don’t want to miss it!

See you on Sunday at 4pm est/1pm pst.  RSVP now!

In solidarity,

Alan Minsky for the PDA National Team

The New Yorker review of the book, “cosmic connections, poetry in the age of disenchantment “June 24 by Gopnik is sound civics for our unhappy communities which demonize the other and enable these fascist types that do not represent community or unity…
